The UNIC Library & Information Centre demonstrates its commitment to academic excellence through a strong service orientation and client focus. It is an academic library, that not only provides support for teaching, learning and research within the academic institution for both faculty and students but plays an important part in society. Services are provided under ten specialised sections:  

Circulation Desk – is the first point of contact for all library users as it is where registration, loaning, reservation, renewals, basic ad hoc training and initial response to user queries services are provided. Email: Circulation Desk

Collection Development – all print and electronic collections are developed through the library’s acquisitions section. The section closely collaborates with academia, leading publishers and the Cyprus Academic Libraries Consortium (CALC) to ensure that high quality resources are available to meet the needs of the university. Accreditation Support – consolidating library resources and facilities for the assessment of the evaluation committee for new and current programmes introduced by the university. Email:Accreditation Support

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) – ensures access to resources that are not provided by the library, through key global collaborations. Email: Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Distance Learning Services – dedicated to providing support and training for online faculty and students. Email: Distance Learning Services

Library Website  – the access point of all information, tools, resources associated with the library, including policies and protocols. 

Research Liaison – provides training and support to faculty on developing ORCID and Scopus accounts and publishing in high impact journals. In addition, it ensures UNIC research and academic activities are included in the open access institutional repository. Email: Research Liaison

European Documentation Centre – as part of the European Commission initiative it is mandated to promote and develop teaching and research with regard to Europe through the provision of official in-depth information, events and educational activities.  

Educational Services – training sessions (both with physical presence and online), guides and relevant materials are provided on resource access and use, and information and media literacy skills for academia and the public. The trainings develop research, lifelong learning and critical thinking skills to provide users with the competitive advantages in the job market and to improve quality of life. Corporate Social Responsibility – specific strategies and tools are implemented to ensure the needs of society are addressed through the provision of information and knowledge of its use, regardless of ethnicity, economic or political standing, education level or age. Such actions include: educating school children, guidance in searching for employment and organising and participating in social events. Email: Corporate Social Responsibility

All sections utilise a number of communication and social medial tools to support users accessibility and troubleshooting. These tools include dedicated emails and telephone lines, live chat platform, social media accounts and instantaneous technical support program.
